'Metropolis' on Railway Terrace in Slough was a 250-unit private landmark development towering 15 storeys over the Slough interchange
Nick Dean worked on this project as EA and QS over two years through the main economic recession period in his tenure at Hunter and Partners. The Main Contractor went into liquidation in the midst of the works, raising a number of complex issues. Off-site materials were secured and existing works valuations were undertaken whilst working closely with the Administrator.
Following an expedient, detailed re-procurement process to complete the remaining Works with a new Main Contractor, the scheme was moved in the right direction for RPSH Client One Housing Group.
This project provided invaluable experience in protecting our Client from the construction and development risks associated with economic turbulence in the marketplace, something 44 Consult continue to provide to all our Clients
