Mixed Use / Residential / Major Regeneration
£120m Silwood was a seven-phase estate regeneration project in South Bermondsey, London which demolished over 650 units and provided over 1,300 new mixed-tenure homes, a Community Centre, a nursery, cyber centre and park facilities. The scheme was undertaken by Baily Garner LLP for L&Q, Presentation, Tower Homes, LB Southwark and LB Lewisham. The project was procured under a JCT D&B Contract with Partnering. Nick worked consistently on this scheme for over 5 years providing EA and QS assistance through phases 1 to 5, administering the Contract and valuing the Works at over £1m/month. The scheme also converted existing houses into an internet-linked Cybercentre to provide local residents with training facilities and improve their employment prospects. Dynamic and diverse community schemes were provided and local employment represented 20% of the entire site workforce. |
